This is true in a sense, but as one who played cricket for many years and has watched it and read about it for even longer, I don't remember ever hearing the length of a cricket pitch referred to as a chain. It's 22 yards, every time.
This question might have been better asked the other way round: "Which imperial unit of measurement is equal to the length of a cricket pitch?"
